OBJECTIVES
The degree in Accounting aims to provide the graduate with scientific, technical and professional skills and knowledge in the area of Accounting as a business science. The aim is to give students skills to exercise the profession of Certified Accountant by combining solid technical and scientific academic preparation with mastery of new management areas responding to current and future challenges in the labour market, both nationally and internationally.
Thus, it responds to the challenges facing organizations today, assigning competencies for management functions and accounting advice, whether for public or business entities.
Graduates in Accounting can enrol in the Order of Certified Accountants (OCA).
Guarda Polytechnic Institute and Mackenzie Presbyterian University, São Paulo, Brazil, recently signed a double-degree agreement. This agreement focuses on the degree in Accounting, taught at the IPG, with equal graduation in Accounting taught at Mackenzie. This is the first time that Mackenzie Presbyterian University is offering a double degree in Accounting.
ACHIEVEMENT PROFILE
A graduate with this degree in Accounting has skills and knowledge in the area of accounting, taxation, auditing and corporate finance, in terms of planning, management, evaluation and control in the organization, associated with economic and business sciences, in a scientific, technical and professional way both nationally and internationally. So the graduate can:
- Apply technical knowledge analytically and practically;
- Understand the contexts in which accounting operates: general and legal environment; accounting profession; business entity; capital market; and public sector;
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of theories and empirical evidence related to corporate finance, risk and market operations;
- Develop interdisciplinarity between the different Curricular Units of the degree as an instrument of interpretation and intervention in reality;
- Prepare opinions and reports that contribute to efficient and effective performance
